CONTACT ME

Born in 1972, I am now fast approaching my 50th birthday. Like many of the young boys of my generation I lived my early adventures through the eyes of my grandfather. He along with my great uncle would often reminisce of their tales of distant wars in exotic lands. It would be these stories that inspired a teenage choice to join the army in 1988. After a dull start to military life it would eventually culminate in a 13 year tenure in the Special Forces. It was during this period that I first experienced the diversity of landscape and the extreme conditions that co-exist with these environments. From the endless forests and ice of the Boreal regions to the North, the arid plains and deserts of Africa to the unforgiving jungles of the Americas I would eagerly participate in any expedition the military offered me. It would, however, be the remotest regions of the world that left me awestruck – the great mountain and glacial regions.

The beauty, tranquility and endless spaces I explored in this wilderness created an unshakable passion for mountain exploration. Over more recent years although my expeditions have become somewhat less exotic in their grandeur, the National Parks of Great Britain have provided me with a source of great solace. The beauty and diversity they provide the explorer can be remarkable. I am a true believer of adventure being completely subjective, one man’s hell is another man’s paradise lost. If you can endure the weather of the British Isles you will be rewarded with a truly exhilarating personal experience. In early 2020 I purchased my first camera, a Canon EOS-R in a vain attempt to capture some of these moments and hopefully inspire others in their own adventures. It is widely known that the best landscape photography is taken at sunrise and sunset, it is a limited window and I was determined to use every one of them wisely. I hope you enjoy the view!

Drop me a line, I’d love to hear about your adventures.

Best, Mark
