The Carneddau is hands down my favourite spot in Snowdonia. I have visited this remote area of the Park several times over the years and have always enjoyed the solitude of this desolate plateau. I set out on this three day trip in April in fantastic Spring weather determined to capture the mood of area. After walking the area for two days, I decided to focus on pulling a composition together on the peak of Carnedd Llewelyn. At a height of 1064 metres the views are ‘huge’ and I was lucky enough to have the weather and light on my side (a rare happening here!). The photo below was captured at last light on what was to be a freezing and gusty evening on the hill. This was my second outing with the camera and was still learning (and struggling) with it. This is the first panoramic I have taken and was really pleased with the outcome. The evening was spent camping at Ffynnon Llyffant the highest lake in Wales surrounded by wild horses. The picture that I took on the 23rd at around 5AM you can just make out my red tent and the wild horses with curious foal that decided it wanted to be in the tent! A truly magical trip out on the mountain!
